My Beloved

Today I created this wedding card for a challenge over at Squigglefly. For this week everyone is to create a card using a black and white color combination. I chose this beautiful image of a bride and groom from Squigglefly as my inspiration for this card. I also found this sentiment at Squgglefly, which I felt went perfectly with the image! If you haven't checked out their website, you should, they have lots of wonderful digital images you can download!

Supplies used: cardstock - white and black; patterned paper - Miley from Pop Star by Rusty Pickle; die cut - Spellbinders Nestabilities; border punch - Martha Stewart; lace trim, ribbon, floss and button - my stash; diamond stickles; image and sentiment - Squigglefly

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!!

Easter Table Decor

Happy Easter everyone! Todays post is for this weeks Wacky Wednesday challenge over at More Than Favors.
This week the theme is Easter and I made favors and place cards for my Easter dinner celebration.
For the place cards first I covered binder clips from Staples with patterned paper and inked the edges. The name cards are kraft cardstock punched with a binder border punch and then inked. I added a strip of patterned paper that I border punched with a scallop punch. The names were cut with the Cuttin Up cartridge and the chicks were cut with Just Because Cards.

For the favor bags I cut the chicks with Create A Critter. I cut slits along the wings so that I could have the wings holding the bag closed. I hole punched through chicks and the bag and tied the bag shut with ribbon.

The little chicks were a craft I found at Martha Stewart's web site and I explained what I did on a previous post.

Did you notice on all the chicks how I made the boys different from the girls?

Thanks for looking and I hope you have a wonderful Easter!

Bunny Blue

Hope everyone had a great start to the week! My Monday was pretty good.
I completed a layout of my grandson on his first Easter. This picture of him with his little blue bunny outfit reminded me of my favorite book when I was a very little girl, called Bunny Blue. So I decided to create this layout around that. I made it for two challenges, Whimsical Wednesday - Make a scrapbook page/pages of any size that is a Spring or Easter theme, must include a bug and or a critter and My Sheri Crafts - theme is bunnies.
I cut the circles out at 10" with my Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge, the letters at 1 1/2" with Opposites Attract and the bunny at 3 1/2" with Animal Kingdom. On the bunny I used some chalk for his cheeks, drew on his whiskers and punched small white dots for his eyes that I added little black plastic eyes.

Supplies used: cardstock - cream, pink, two shades of blue; patterned paper from Samll Wonders paper pad by K & Co,; ink - Royal Blue by Colorbox; black, pink and blue pens by American Crafts; Pearlescent Chalk by Pebbles; ribbon - American Crafts; black plastic eyes - Michaels; pop dots

Enjoy your day everyone!

Cupcake Wrapper

Happy Saturday everyone! Today I have a cupcake holder and a topper for you! I made these for two challenges, Celebrate the Occasion - Theme is Easter or Spring (must use a punch) and Cricut Cardz Challenge - Easter cupcake holder or wrapper.

I used a strip of 12 X 12 patterned paper for the holder. I scallop punched the top of the strip and ribbon punched the bottom. I then accordion folded the strip matching up the little ribbon punched slits. I wove ribbon in and out of the slits and tied it. I cut a 4" scalloped circle from the patterned paper with the Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge. I glued the accordion folded pice to the scalloped circle piece. I cut a smaller strip of paper for the handle and scallop punched both long sides, then glued it to the wrapper.

For the topper I cut another scalloped circle but this time at 2 1/4" from Accent Essentials. The chick was cut from Just Because Cards Cricut cartridge at 4". I used a pop dot when I attached the wing. For the eyes I used two 1/4" hole punched pieces of white paper with two tiny black plastic eyes. The chick is attached to the scalloped circle with pop dots to give it some more dimension.

Cupcakes are lemon if your interested! LOL

Supplies used: cardstock - 2 shades of yellow, white, orange; patterned paper - so egg-cited and chicken little from Little Chick by Three Bugs In a Rug; ribbon - my stash; ribbon border punch - Martha Stewart; Scalloped border punch - EK Success; black plastic eyes - Michael's; Accent Essentials and Just Because Cards Cricut cartridges; wooden skewer, cupcake (mmmm!)

Thanks to all my peeps for taking a peek!!!

Flower Pot Birthday Card

Hope everyone had a super Saturday! I had a great one, I scored some super deals at JoAnn's and Michael's :) and spent time in my craft room too! What could be better!

I made this card for this weeks challenge at Celebrate The Occasion. This week the theme is "Anything Birthday" (must have a flower).

I cut a piece of brown cardstock 3 1/4" X 7" and folded it in half. Then I cut both sides at an angle (with the fold at the bottom) so that it resembled the shape of a pot. I cut another piece of brown cardstock 3 1/2 X 1 3/4. Using a scalloped border punch I punched one long end of the strip. I then adhered it to the flower pot, aligning the top edges and only applying adhesive to the top section of the strip. Then I wrapped ribbon around the strip.

The inside piece is white cardstock cut 3 3/4 X 2 1/4 and then matted with the pattern paper.
The flowers and leaves were cut with the Walk In My Garden Cricut cartridge.
I cut one border of daisy's at 1 1/2", two single daisy's at 1 1/2", 2 leaf borders at 1 1/2" and one leaf border at 1 1/4". The middle of the flowers were punched out of the patterned paper with a 1/2" circle punch. Then all the pieces were attached to the top of the white, matted piece. I added my sentiments and there you have it!

Supplies used: cardstock - brown, 2 shades of yellow, 2 shades of green and white; patterned paper - black bitty dot basics by Papertrey Inc.; border punch - Martha Stewart; 1/2" circle punch - EK Success; oval scalloped punch - Stampin' Up; Happy Birthday stamp - Hero Arts; rub on sentiment - Words On The Go by Rebecca Erickson; Walk In My Garden and George & Basic Shapes Cricut cartridges.

Hoppy Easter Card

I've been having so much fun making Easter cards this week. I have bunnies, chicks and eggs dancing in my head. I made this card for the Just Us Girls challenge. You are to make a card using this sketch

I came up with this card

Card is 4 1/4 X 6

Supplies used: cardstock - white, pink and green; patterned paper - Easter Bonnett in Peep by We R Memory Keepers; doily - Wilton; scalloped oval punch - Stampin' Up; border punch - Martha Stewart; bunny rub on - Easter Doodle Icons by Moxie; scalloped round circle cut with Accent Essentials Cricut cartridge; button and thread - my stash; font - LD Vanilla.

Thanks for taking a peek, your comments are always very appreciated!

Happy Easter Sliding Card

I made this cute Easter sliding card and I am entering it in the Cricut Cardz Challenge. It's challenge #69 create a card, LO or craft project for Easter.
They are having a cool Easter Bunny Blog Hop, you should go take a look at all their designers wonderful creations!

Anyway on to my card

To make this card, you first cut out a 5 1/2" square out of your choice of cardstock. 1/2" down from the top and 1/2" over from each side you are going to cut two 1/16" slots that are 1 1/2" long for the brad tracks. See picture:
To make the card front you will cut another piece of cardstock 5" square. Cut an egg out of your choice of patterned paper and adhere to cardstock. 2" up from bottom draw a straight line just to egg with pencil, then on egg draw some jagged lines. Cut in half along lines. See Pic:

To make each chick punch 2 circles with a 1" circle punch. Cut triangles from orange cardstock for beaks, punch eyes from black cardstock with 1/4" hole punch. Glue pieces to face.

Adhere bottom egg piece to block along side and bottom edges. Position chick faces and adhere.
Staple a loop of ribbon to top piece of egg cardstock. To attach to card, insert brads through piece and tracks; spread prongs horizontally so piece slides along tracks. Note: insert brads when egg is closed for correct positioning.

Print "Happy Easter" on cardstock; trim and mat with cardstock and adhere to front of card. Adhere buttons if you choose.

Voila, you have a darling Easter Card!

Supplies used: cardstock - green, blue, yellow, orange and black; patterned paper - Easter Basket from Peep by We R Memory Keepers; brads - Making Memories; ribbon, buttons, floss - my stash; 1" circle punch - EK Success; 1/4" hole punch - Fiskars; font - Rosewood Std Regular; pop dots, ruler, x-acto knife.

Blog Awards

I have two friends to thank for two different blog awards!

First I'd like to thank Paper Panther and Rayna at Purple Peeps Techniques for awarding me the Versatile Blogger award. This is the second time I've been honored with this award. As I just awarded this to 15 people a couple weeks ago, I hope they will forgive me if I just say thank you this time!

Second I'd like to thank Victoria at Victoria's Junk for the Best Friend Blogger award.

Here are the rules of this award:
1.  Post about it on your blog with a link to the sender.
2.  Pass it on to those who visit your blog and leave comments regularly.

There are two people in particular I wish I could give this award to, but they don't have blogs.
They are my Mom and my sister Cathy because they come and comment on every single one of my posts!

I could name so many people I appreciate, who comment on my blog but I think I will limit it to 5.
Here they are and I want to sincerely thank them for their encouragement:

2. Norma at Pink Bling Crafter
3. Judy at Crafty Jar
4. Liz at Which Craft
5. Terri at My Need 2 Craft

Thank you everyone!

We are also looking for 5 new DT members! We will be split into 2 teams so you will need to be able to produce a piece of work once every 4 wks with the possibility of working with sponsor images on occasion. You will also need to comment on challenge entries according to a set rota.

So I decided to try out to be one of their design team members. I think it would be so much fun!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed (and my toes too!)
