Die Cuttin' Divas Christmas in July Challenge

It seems strange to think about Christmas when you are busy swimming, boating, picnicking, hiking, and all those other summer activities.

But, that is just what we are doing over at Die Cuttin' Divas this week, as we have a "Christmas in July" challenge.

For my card this week I took 3d bow by Lori Whitlock - Design ID #25161 from the Silhouette Store and cut it out 4 times in graduating sizes. From another cut file I cut a pot out for the tree.

The poinsettia at the top of the tree was fussy cut from one of the patterned papers and attached with a pop dot for dimension.

Supplies used: card stock - red; patterned papers by Authentique; Silhouette Studio cut files; Stamps from Michaels; ink - Jet Black Archival; Pop Dots.

Die Cuttin' Divas Ice Cream Challenge

What could be better on a hot summer day than Ice Cream?

Whether you're a Baskin Robbins 31 flavors person or Dairy Queen soft serve is your thing, we all love Ice Cream!!!

This week, over at Die Cuttin' Divas, we are celebrating national ice cream month with a challenge to create a project having to do with ice cream.

I saw this fun ice cream truck file at the Silhouette Studio store and thought it would make a cute card!

I started with ice cream truck by Carta Bella - Design ID #77169 .  I separated all the different cuts in "design studio" first. Then I took just the outline of the truck, duplicated it, flipped it, and welded the tops of the two trucks together. I then added dashed lines on the fold. Voila, I turned a regular cut file into a card.

I think it will make a wonderful birthday card, or even a nice thank you card.

Supplies used: card stock - white, 2 shades of pink, gray, blue, black; patterned papers scrap from my stash; cut file by Silhouette Studio; stamps - pops2eat by The Stamps of Life; ink - Jet Black Archival.

Now pop on over to Die Cuttin' Divas and see all the fabulous inspiration the rest of the design team has come up with.

Die Cuttin' Divas Sketch Challenge

Did everyone enjoy their 4th of July celebrations?

We had fun with friends and family on the 4th! BBQ, games, fireworks and great food.

Since it is Tuesday it is time for a new challenge over at Die Cuttin' Divas.

This week we have a sketch challenge for you.

I seem to be on the nautical kick right now.

I created my card using cut file from Silhouette Studio for the ships steering wheel or helm as they are called.

I used the offset feature to create the white background for my red wheel.

The sentiment was created in my Print Shop program.

Supplies used: card stock - white, red, gray patterned papers by Authentique; cut files by Silhouette Studio; twine - May Arts and Trendy Twine; paper clip - Maya Road; staples - Making Memories; Ribbon and skittles - my stash; sentiment created in Print Shop; Pop Dots

Now pop on over to Die Cuttin' Divas and see all the fabulous inspiration the rest of the design team has come up with.

Nautical Birthday

Nautical seems to be all the rage right now!

I see it everywhere, from crafts to clothing to decorating.

The toppings option over at Seize The Birthday is red, white and blue this week.

I think that nautical always looks great in red, white and blue; so that's what I chose to do for my card.

I found these awesome little shake it pouches by Impression Obsession, that turn making your shaker cards into a breeze. I used a cut file by Silhouette Studio  to make my shaker insert look like a porthole.

Supplies used: card stock - white, red, blue; patterned papers by Authentique; shaker pouch by Impression Obsession; anchor and porthole cut files by Silhouette Studio; stamp - Dollar Bin at Michaels; ink - Stampin' Up; sequins and beads - my stash; twine - Trendy Twine.

Thanks for popping by!
