Friends.... One is silver......

Any former Girl Scouts out there?

Remember the little song:

Make New friends
but keep the old,
One is silver
and the other gold.

I am playing in this weeks challenge at Cas-ual Fridays and the theme is Hi Ho Silver, which for some reason made me think about this song from Girl Scouts.

I created my sentiment on my computer in my Print Shop program and cut my little gals out with my Silhouette Cameo. I used my scor-pal to emboss some lines above and below my sentiment. I punched four tiny holes and tied some gold and silver twine, which I just purchased at my local scrapbook store, to finish it off.

Supplies used: card stock - white, silver glitter, gold glitter; Silhouette Studio cut file; twine - Local scrapbook store; Scor-pal; fonts - Great Vibes and Lucida Grande; Pop Dots.

Whimsical Wednesday "Sketch It"

Well, Wednesday has rolled around again and we have a new challenge for you over at Whimsical Designs!! This week our challenge is "sketch it" and we have a sketch created by one of our own fabulous design team members - Nanne!!!

Our sponsor this week is Shelly's Images and you have a chance to win a $9 voucher to her store!

Shelly provided the design team with a digital image to use for our creations, called "Beary Smart"

I decided to use the image to create a New Baby card for a little boy. I printed my image out on white card stock and also on patterned paper so that I could fussy cut his fur body out. I matted my stripe paper on a piece of blue card stock, used pop dots to add a piece of the die cut star paper on the bottom and attached it to my vanilla card stock card base. I used a spellbinders die to cut out my digital image and attached it on top of my patterned papers. I also added a few rub ons.

Supplies used: card stock - white, vanilla and blue; patterned papers - Ella Stripe, Jack Animals and Jack Die Cut Stars all in Animal Crackers by Making Memories; rub ons - Baby Boy book one, and Ginger sidekicks both by American Crafts; digital image - Beary Smart by Shelly's Images; CopicMarkers; Pebbles chalk; Lacey Circles Nestabilities by Spellbinder; Pop Dots

Thanks for stopping by, now I hope you'll head over to Whimsical Designs and see what the rest of the design team has created with "Beary Smart".

Graphic Happy Birthday

My second post for today is a card I created for Seize The Birthday!

This week we are to create a masculine birthday card with this sketch:

I attached my pattern paper to my card stock base first. I then took a 4" X 5 1/4" piece of white card stock and cut a circle out of the bottom center. I attached a piece of transparency to the back, covering the cut out circle. I then cut notches out of both sides to make it look like it was two separate pieces. I stamped my sentiment on another piece of card stock and cut it into a small circle. I attached that circle to the transparency.  I then attached the whole piece to my card with Pop Dots and embellished with some buttons.

Supplies used: card stock - white; patterned paper by Samantha Walker for Creative Imaginations; buttons and twine - my stash; stamp - Inkadinkado; ink Jet Black Archival; transparency - Staples; Pop Dots.
