VCMP with OWH

This weekend there was a Virtual Card Making Party over at Operation Write Home's Stars and Samps Blog!

Every 3 hours on Saturday and Sunday a new challenge went live on the Stars and Stamps blog.  You clicked on the link to be taken to each hostess’ personal blog where you could play along, upload your cards to “their” inlinkz, and visit everyone else who played along, too!

Today I wanted to share the cards I made for Saturdays challenges.

The first challenge was to use the following sketch and link your creation to Scrap Happens blog:

I made my card using new Christmas papers by Authentique and a new argyle embossing folder I got from Darice.

Supplies used: card stock - recycled white, 2 shades of blue; patterned papers - Medley, Tinsel, Rudolph, Chimney and Enhancements from Tradition by Authentique; 1" square punch - EK Success; Argyle embossing folder - Darice; Pop Dots.

For the second challenge you were to create a card with elements that represent each letter of Operation Write Home and link it to All I need Is Paper and Ink...& Stamps and Copics.

For my card I represented the letters of OWH by an orange pumpkin for "O", wheat for "W" and a haystack for "H".

Supplies used: card stock - kraft, 3 shades of yellow; patterned papers in Forever Fall collection by BoBunny; Silhouette Studio cut file; stickers - Harvest by Dept. 44; sentiment sticker in "Thankful" elements by Authentique; border punch and corner rounder - Fiskars; twine - Liz's Paper Loft Boutique; ink - Cocoa by ColorBox.

The third challenge on Saturday was to use Seongsook's Triple Die Cutting technique, which she has a tutorial for on her blog Seongsook's Creations.

For my card I used some beautiful fall papers by BoBunny, a die by Tim Holtz, my Nestabilities, and a cute sticker by Authentique.

Supplies used: card stock - rust orange and green; patterned papers - Apple Cider Autumn and Apple Cider Stripe in Apple Cider by BoBunny; A2 Matting Basics A & B Nestabilities by Spellbinder; Rosette Die by Tim Holtz for Sizzix; scalloped circle and circle punches by EK Success; sticker in "Thankful" by Authentique; leaf stickers - JoLee's; stick pin - Yolee; beads - my stash; Glue Dots.

The 4th challenge was to use sketch #29 to make a "Love" card and link it to by Annette.

I created my card with some fun stamps by Sweet Stamp Shop and a cute picnic tablecloth paper by Stampin' Up. I also turned the sketch on its side.

Supplies sued: card stock - recycled white, red; patterned paper by Stampin' Up; stamps - Perfect Match by Sweet Stamp Shop; ink - Tuxedo Black by Memento; Copic markers; bakers twine - my stash; twine - Liz's Paper Loft Boutique; brad - Doodlebug.

And for the last challenge on Saturday you were to make a card with the Masking Tape Block Stamping Technique. There is a great tutorial for how to do this on Donna's blog Donna inks.

For my card I used blue painters tape as I didn't have any masking tape in the house. My ink was from Stampin' Up and the pretty birds are by Inkadinkado.

Supplies used: card stock - recycled white, blue; painter tape - Home Depot; stamps - Birds Galore by Inkadinkado and sentiment from Everyday Sentiments by Whimsical Designs; ink - Brilliant Blue by Stampin" Up and jet Black Archival Ink; buttons - my stash; twine - Liz's Paper Loft Boutique.

Thanks for stopping by!!!!!
