JOY / Home Decor Blog Hop

Hi and welcome to the CHRISTMAS HOME DECOR BLOG HOP!!

If you arrived here from Pam's blog Love Bug Creations than you are in the right place, if you just stopped by my blog you'll want to start at the beginning at Shannon's blog My Scrappy Creations so you don't miss out on any of the wonderful creations!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas and we'd like to inspire you to get your home decorated for the holidays!!!

For my project I was inspired by something I saw on Pinterest.

It's from the blog Craft Goodies.

For my version I purchased the letters at JoAnn's, painted them red and used Mod Podge to attach patterned paper by Graphic 45 to the fronts of the J and the Y.

I also purchased a three jingle bell ornament from JoAnn's which I took apart to use the largest of the jingle bells for my project. It was brown and I painted it the same color red as the letters and also painted the jingle bell with Mod Podge as a sealer.

I painted a wooden wheel piece red and glued the jingle bell to it so that the jingle bell would stay upright and in place.

I also glued some buttons, tied with twine, to the J and Y. The pine cones, greenery and berries came with the jingle bell ornament, so I reattached them after the paint had dried.

I will have some blog candy, but I forgot to take a pic.

If you are a follower of my blog and leave a comment on this post, you will be entered in the drawing for the blog candy.

You are now off to see what Lisa has created at Lisa's Creative Niche!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

You Melt My Heart

I have a card to share with you today that I made for a new challenge blog Addicted To CAS!

Their first challenge is SNOW

For my card I decided to use a new stamp set I received from Paper Smooches called Warm Hearts which you can purchase here.

I also tried a technique that I'd never done before - masking.
I used Sticky Notes to cover my card stock on both sides of where I wanted my images to go.
Then I stamped, applied my Sitckles and peeled off the Sticky Notes.

I think it's a technique I'll improve on with practice, but I'm not super unhappy with my first try.

Supplies used: card stock - white; stamps - Warm Hearts by Paper Smooches; ink - Faded Jeans Distress Ink by Tim Holtz for Ranger; Diamond, Turquoise and Xmas Red Stickles; Pop Dots

Turkey Shirt

I just had to share with you the little turkey t-shirt I made for my granddaughter to wear on Thanksgiving.

My daughter saw this on Pinterest and asked me if I could make one for Michelle, so of course I said yes.

Here is the pic of the one my daughter pinned from the blog Love From Texas:

Here is my version:

I ironed a piece of Heat & Bond Lite on to a small piece of brown cotton fabric.

I downloaded a turkey cut file from Silhouette Studio and cut the fabric body out with my Cameo.

I traced the outline of the body on to my shirt, then pinned the ribbon around the outline and sewed the ribbon on with my sewing machine.

Then I ironed the turkey body on to the shirt, over the ribbon, and reinforced it by sewing around the body with my sewing machine also.

I cut the beak and waddle out of paper, again with my Cameo, and used the paper pieces to trace an outline on my Turkey which I then satin stitched.

I sewed a couple black beads on for eyes.

I can't wait to see it on her!!!!!!!

Thanksgiving Subway Art / Pins To Creations Fall Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pins To Creations Fall / Thanksgiving Blog Hop!!

If you've arrived from Ashley's blog The Glamorous Side of Scrapping you are in the right place, if not please start at the beginning at Pins To Creations so you don't miss a thing!

I don't know about you, but I have been pinning quite a few fall/Thanksgiving projects on my board. There are so many cute things out there that I want to give a try!!

Subway art is very popular right now and I saw this Fall themed subway art on Pinterest:

It's from the blog Betty Crocker Wannabe and there is a printable for the above subway art if you'd like to copy it.

This pretty framed art inspired me to create one of my own. For mine, I started with a print and cut file from Silhouette Studio.

I printed the subway art on cream card stock and inserted it in a frame that I had purchased at JoAnn's. I cut the pumpkins, acorns, and leaves out from patterned paper and attached them on top of the printed version with Pop Dots.

I then enlarged those same pieces and cut them out again to attach to the bottom of my frame.

I layered the different cuts, gluing some directly onto the frame and attaching others with different size Pop Dots.

It was really fairly simple and I'm happy with the finished product!!

Supplies used: card stock - cream; patterned papers - Pioneer and Giving in Thankful by Authentique, Apple Cider Stripe in Apple Cider by BoBunny; Silhouette Studio print & cut file; frame - JoAnn's; Pop Dots.

If you are a follower of my blog and leave a comment on this post I will enter you in a drawing for this blog candy:

Thank You So Very Much

This is my second post for today, if you are looking for the Autumn Blessings blog hop click here.

This is a little CAS card I'd like to share with you that I made for this weeks challenge at Casology.

This weeks cue is orange.

I went with an orange card stock for my card base. I cut a background out with my Cameo using a Silhouette Studio cut file, and glued it to my card base. I matted a piece of kraft card stock onto a slightly larger piece of brown and then cut a leaf out of the corner, again using a Silhouette Studio cut file. I attached a piece of transparency to the back of the leaf cut out so that I could glue the leaf vein on. I added a rub on and a little twine bow and then attached it to my car base with Pop Dots for dimension.

Supplies used: card stock - orange, brown, kraft; Silhouette Studio cut files; transparency sheet - Office Depot; rub on - American crafts; twine - my stash.

My sister is gracious enough to host Thanksgiving dinner at her house. She is a fabulous cook so all of the family is grateful that we get to enjoy her cooking. She came across this project online and asked if I would make it for her to use on her table.

Super easy, so if you need a little something for your table you can whip this up in a flash.

I used glass votives I purchased at Walmart for .77 each.

The letters were cut on vinyl using the "A Childs Year" Cricut cartridge. I used the monogram option and cut the letters at 2" each. For the leaf I used Cricut Craft Room to insert the leaf icon from page 37 into the plain monogram on page 57.
