Shadowbox Mothers Day Card / CTO Challenge #62

We are celebrating Mothers Day this week over at Celebrate The Occasion! Please stop by the blog and check out the super creations the design team has to show you, and link up your Mothers Day project, we'd love to see it.

This month we'd like to shout out a big thank you to our sponsor Digi Doodle Shop. They have all kinds of wonderful digital images and right now they are having a spring sale. Please stop by their store and check out all the creative digital images they have.

For my project this week I made a shadowbox card using a Silhouette Studio cut file. For the inside I combined cuts from a couple Cricut cartridges along with Silhouette Studio files. I popped the different cuts up in layers with Pop Dots to give it dimension.

A clean house......

Hope your weekend was super! Did you get any crafting done on Saturday for National Scrapbooking Day? I spent my afternoon in the craft room, and enjoyed it thoroughly!!

Pink By Design came out with this really fun stamp set called Days Like This. I love the retro images with the fun sentiments, so of course I had to purchase the set.

This is the first card I have made with it and I think it would make a fun Mothers Day card. I used the cute, retro looking paper from  Nan's Favourites Collection by Kaiser Craft. I cut the cute apron out with From My Kitchen Cricut cartridge.

Supplies used: cardstock - kraft, brown, white; patterned papers - Cookie Dough, Shortbread, Cherry Tart all from Nan's Favourites Collection by Kaiser Craft; brads - American Crafts; ribbon - Really Reasonable Ribbon; stamp from Days Like This by Pink By Design; apron cut with From My Kitchen Cricut cartridge; Pop Dots.

You're Tool-riffic

Fun little play on words today, that would make a cute card for any handy Dad on Father's day!

This card is especially appropriate for my hubby as he is a contractor for a living.

It is pretty easy, peasy. Simply print out your sentiment leaving a space for the nuts to replace the O's in Tool. Trim your papers, use a corner rounder, attach your papers and then just glue on your nuts. I just realized how that sounds, haha!

In no time at all you have a fun Father's Day card.

Flower Birthday

Todays card is based on another cute Pinterest find.

I love the use of the negative space of this cut flower, especially when you put Pop Dots on the back. All the flowers were cut with Silhouette Studio cut files. Added some brads, buttons and twine, making for a cute birthday card!

Supplies used: cardstock - green, orange, kraft; pattern paper was a scrap from my stash; buttons, twine - my stash; brads - American Crafts, Making Memories; flowers - Silhouette Studio cut files; stamp - Everyday Sentiments from Whimsical Designs; ink - Olive Pastel by ColorBox

Fluttering By To Say Hi

I saw this card on Pinterest and I thought it was so adorable and also so easy. Of course I had to pin it to my cards board and create my own version.

I simply cut out the butterflies with my Once Upon A Princess cartridge, first moving the blade about 1/3 of the way down the paper. I then hit "line Return" and cut out one more. I trimmed the paper using the negative space where the butterfly was cut. I glued the trimmed papers on my cardstock, and one of each butterfly flat, then the second cut of each butterfly I glued down only the body and bent the wings up. I added some buttons, rhinestones and my sentiment and my card was finished.

Supplies used: cardstock - white; patterned papers - First Date, Lucky Laugh, Pretty Please all in Neopolitan by American Crafts; Buttons - my stash; rhinestones - Bazzil; sentiment stamp from Wimsical Fun - Vol 1 by Whimsical Designs; Once Upon A Princess Cricut cartridge.
