This weekend I got a head start on Easter! I'm making these darling chicks for my Easter dinner table to both decorate and give as favors for my guests. I found the idea at Martha Stewart I had everything I needed in my craft supplies except for the beans and the plastic eggs. It was a great way to use up some leftover yellow fabric I had. I only made a few changes from Martha's directions. I could not find yellow split peas so I used lentils. I used half round black bead eyes for the chicks eyes rather than punching out felt eyes. I also decided to distinguish between male and female by adding some bows tied behind button flowers for the gals. To keep the eggs upright I turned over the other half of the plastic egg and hot glued it to the half that held the chick. The chicks are really fairly easy to make and I think they are so cute!
Supplies used: 2 pieces of yellow fabric cut 5" X 6" and 2 pieces of white fabric cut 5" X 6" per chick; yellow and orange felt for wings and beak; half round plastic bead eyes for eyes; plastic eggs; Easter grass; lentil beans; ribbon and flower buttons for girl chicks; pinking shears; glue
Should I put a bow tie or something for guys or just leave it plain?
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!
I always love your comments!

St. Patrick's Day Favor Match Box
Everyone who knows me, understands that I love holidays! Never mind that I am only a teensy bit Irish, I go all out for St Patty's. I decorate the house and make a big St Patty's dinner for friends and family. Our drinks are green, as well as some of the food. I decided this year to also make favors for each guests place setting at the table. I also am entering the favor in the Flaunt it Fridays challenge. I am also entering it in Celebrate the Occasion challenge.
This is my first time entering a challenge and I am excited.
I am hoping to find some chocolate gold coins to put in the boxes. I added a little stamp inside so that after you grab your chocolate there is a surprise message! The box was cut with the Tags, Bags, Boxes and more Cricut cartridge set at 3". The shamrocks were cut with the Give a Hoot Cricut cartridge, and they were cut at 1 1/2" in the light color and 1 1/4" in the dark color for the large shamrock. The small shamrocks were cut at 1" and 3/4".
Supplies used: cardstock - two shades of green; patterned paper is double sided - Jade_White Big Dots by Scenic Route Paper Co.; flowers and ribbon from my stash; rhinestones - Kaiser Craft; Stamp - JoAnn's.
I think they will look cute on my table!
Have a terrific Thursday!

Friends, Baby, etc.
The sun was shining yesterday so my grandkids and I took a walk. It was nice to get outside. I felt rejuvenated. Unfortunately it is back to rain today. Oh well.
Todays first card is No Distance To Great. I really liked the way some of the flowers popped off the card. I like using pop dots to make some of my embellishments get that 3D look.

Supplies used: cardstock - brown; patterned paper - Postcards From Paris by Webster's Pages and The Sophisticate in A Proper Gentleman Collection by Graphic 45; rub on - Crate Paper; ribbon, rhinestones and charm - my stash; garment pin - Making Memories.
My third choice for today is For You Vine, it is simple but pretty.
