Die Cuttin Divas Christmas Carol Inspired Challenge

Christmas is certainly in the air right now. We hear Christmas music everywhere. Jingle Bells, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, etc. But my favorites are the Carols about the true meaning of Christmas, Christ!

So, for this weeks challenge at Die Cuttin' Divas - Christmas Carol Inspired - I chose one of my favorite Carols, "Away In A Manger"

For my project I created a little shadowbox of Jesus in the manger.

The sweet little 3D Jesus is a Snapdragon Snippets file over at Sillhouette Studio. It is design #52508 

The hay is raffia spread on the bottom of the shadowbox.

                                       

I designed the sentiment in Silhouette Design Studio and cut it out of cream colored vinyl. I placed it on the outside of the glass.

Supplies used: shadowbox - Michaels; cardstock - 2 shades of brown, 2 shades of cream, peach, 2 shades of blue; patterned paper - Basecoat Christmas Collection by Kaisercraft, Alpine Frost by SEI; Raffie; Cream Colored Vinyl.

Die Cuttin' Divas Shaped Card Challenge

Wow, we have Thanksgiving in only two days and that means Christmas is right around the corner!!!

I don't know about you, but I haven't even begun to think about Christmas. I guess I better get a fire lit, LOL.

Well this week over at Die Cuttin' Divas our challenge is to make a shaped card.

For my project I created a Christmas Stocking shaped card with a cute little snowman peeking out of the top.

Grab Life By The Beans

Did everyone have a great weekend? The weather here was just gorgeous!!! My hubby and I took a long walk each day. So nice to get out and enjoy the sunshine :)

I'd like to share a card today that I made for Case This Sketch!

For my take on the sketch I pulled out one of my favorite stamp sets by Paper Smooches called Cyber Cafe. I stamped the three different cups on three different papers and then fussy cut them out so I could stack them.

Challenge #8 - LUFP

I hope all of you had a joyous Christmas with family and friends!!!! I had a wonderful day with my family. We enjoyed a delicious meal at my daughters house and then played a basketball shootoff tournament with the Kinect. My 2 daughters and I had the 3 highest scores, so much for the guys, we are women hear us roar!!!!!!!!!

For my project I decided to make my version of these cute trees I pinned awhile back from Simple Home. Life.

Aren't they adorable?

I started with 3 wood blocks that were 2" X 2" and drilled a small hole in the tops the same size as the wooden dowels I had purchased.  I painted them first with Martha Stewarts multi suface High Gloss acrylic craft paint in Gray Wolf and after the paint dried I put on a coat of Martha Stewart multi-surface Glitter acrylic craft paint in Antique Silver.

The wooden dowels I purchased were 3/16" X 12". I left one that size, cut another to 10 1/2" and the third to 9".  Then glued them into the holes in the wood blocks.

I used patterned papers in Alpine Frost by SEI for my trees. For the large tree I cut 13 circles in 1/2" intervals  from 1 1/2" up to 8", for the middle tree I cut 12 circles from 1 1/2" up to 7 1/2" and for the small tree I cut 11 circles from 1" to 6". I folded them according to the tutorial on the Simple Home. Life blog. snipped the tops so I could slide them onto the dowels and hot glued them in place.

For the finishing touch I hot glued glitter stars by Jolee's to the tops of the trees.

You Turn Me On

Yesterday was Earth Day, which reminds all of us to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle and help take care of our planet.

In honor of Earth Day I made a little card that reused some dead batteries, and I pulled the papers from my scrap stash. I made the cuts with Silhouette Studio cut files on my Cameo. The sentiment was printed on the computer.
