Whimsical Wednesday "Sketch It"

Well, Wednesday has rolled around again and we have a new challenge for you over at Whimsical Designs!! This week our challenge is "sketch it" and we have a sketch created by one of our own fabulous design team members - Nanne!!!

Our sponsor this week is Shelly's Images and you have a chance to win a $9 voucher to her store!

Shelly provided the design team with a digital image to use for our creations, called "Beary Smart"

I decided to use the image to create a New Baby card for a little boy. I printed my image out on white card stock and also on patterned paper so that I could fussy cut his fur body out. I matted my stripe paper on a piece of blue card stock, used pop dots to add a piece of the die cut star paper on the bottom and attached it to my vanilla card stock card base. I used a spellbinders die to cut out my digital image and attached it on top of my patterned papers. I also added a few rub ons.

Supplies used: card stock - white, vanilla and blue; patterned papers - Ella Stripe, Jack Animals and Jack Die Cut Stars all in Animal Crackers by Making Memories; rub ons - Baby Boy book one, and Ginger sidekicks both by American Crafts; digital image - Beary Smart by Shelly's Images; CopicMarkers; Pebbles chalk; Lacey Circles Nestabilities by Spellbinder; Pop Dots

Thanks for stopping by, now I hope you'll head over to Whimsical Designs and see what the rest of the design team has created with "Beary Smart".

Because I Care

Yay it's Friday!

Only two more days until the next episode of Downton Abbey!!!!

I'm so totally addicted to this show, are you a fan also?

Anyway, today I have a card I created for two challenges.

I am participating in Mojo Monday.

And also in The Paper Players.

I have to say I really struggled with this card. I started out stamping my pretty image and coloring it with copics. I then cut it out as an oval and matted it with the black scalloped oval that is on the card. Didn't like it. Then I fussy cut it and put it in the middle of the oval. Didn't like it. Finally settled on putting the sentiment in the oval and using my fussy cut image as a partial frame for the oval. Decided I could live with that. Don't know why I had such a hard time with this card, and I'm still not thrilled, but here it is:

Supplies used: card stock - cream, black; patterned papers - script from Timeless by Kaiser Craft, Noir Floral Butterfly in Paper Reverie by Making memories and a scrap by Graphic 45; Silhouette Studio cut files; stamps - Bundle of Care by Unity; ink - Tuxedo Black by Memento; Copic markers; ribbon - Michaels; rhinestones - BoBunny; netting; sewing machine; edge distressor - Heide Swapp.

Flower Thank You

I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest and really loved how the image was stamped on an old book page, so I just had to try it out.

Of course the colors apply and shade differently than working on paper made for Copic markers, but I think it turned out fairly well.

I'd Like to enter it in 3 challenges going on right now.

At The Paper Player it is challenge #121 and the color combo this week is :

At Papercraft Star  the challenge this week is Thank You.

And at Operation Write Home the midweek throwdown challenge is Thank You.

You Turn Me On

Yesterday was Earth Day, which reminds all of us to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle and help take care of our planet.

In honor of Earth Day I made a little card that reused some dead batteries, and I pulled the papers from my scrap stash. I made the cuts with Silhouette Studio cut files on my Cameo. The sentiment was printed on the computer.

Supplies used: cardstock - kraft, black, patterned papers - Adirondack in Poppy by SEI, Checky Emery Red by Making Memories, Fine Engraved Paper in Ruby from artsy.lucious by Chatter Box; border, heart and lightening bolt - Silhouette Studio cut files; font - LighteningVolt; rhinestones - Kaiser Craft; twine - my stash; dead batteries.
