Die Cuttin' Divas Happy Birthday Challenge

Well, at my house we have major remodel going on.

We've ripped out carpet, tile, and baseboard. Removed curtains, blinds, etc. removed the old mantel and gas stove. Now we are ready to paint!

Can't wait until everything is done and my house is back in order.

It's Tuesday and it is time for a new challenge. I hope to see you playing along with us.

Our challenge over at Die Cuttin' Divas this week is Happy Birthday.

.

For my card I grabbed a stamp and die set by Mama Elephant.

I also used a stitched hillside die by Lawn Fawn and a stitched rectangle die by Simon Says Stamp.

I cut my "Celebrate" sentiment out of vinyl using a Silhouette Studio cut file.

To mimic the polka dot pattern paper in the background I added a spattering of enamel dots by Doodlebug.

Supplies used: card stock - white; patterned papers by Recollections; vinyl; stamps and dies from Mama Elephant; Dies from Simon Says Stamp and Lawn Fawn; Silhouette Studio cut file; Enamel dots by Doodlebug; Copic Markers; Pop Dots.

5 Cards Using Spellbinders April Card Kit

Happy Monday all!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. We spent our Saturday tearing out tile in my entryway and kitchen, soon to be replaced with vinyl plank flooring. Busy weekend, but felt good to get things accomplished.

Today I would like to share 5 cards I made with Spellbinders April card kit. I recently signed up to receive this kit once a month and have been enjoying it so far.

This kit comes with cardstock, beautiful papers, lots of embellishments, ribbon, and best of all Spellbinder dies!

For my first card I created a Mothers Day card using 1 inch strips of each of the patterned papers. I cut the "M♥︎M" out with the gold paper using a die by Lil Inker.  I added the butterfly charm using some ribbon, both of which were included in the kit. Then I added the little sentiment at the bottom of the card, which happened to come in last months kit.

For my second card I simply cut a piece of pattern paper at an angle and trimmed it with a strip of the gold paper. I also used the gold paper to cut some little leaves out, added the acrylic leaf and the layered flower along with the bonjour all of which are also from the kit and my card was finished.

My third card used two dies from the kit, a sentiment, an acrylic embellishment and a purple rose all from the kit. I used a stitched square die to cut out both the opening and the piece of pattern paper. I had the little vellum leaves left over from a recent Paper Pumpkin kit.

The fourth card used a couple pattern papers, one of the two of the dies and an acrylic embellishment from the kit. The pretty doily sticker and rhinestones were from last months kit. I added some more little vellum leaves and purple twine to finish off this card.

For my final card I cit a square panel using a stitched square die and then used a smaller stitched square die to cut the four openings.I filled the openings with die cuts and embellishments included in the kit. A pattern paper strip on the bottom finished off this card.

Supplies used: cardstock, pattern papers, misc. embellishments from Spellbinders April Card kit; M♥︎M die from Lil Inkers; twine from May Arts; stitched square dies from Simon Says Stamp; vellum leaves from Paper Pumpkin; misc. embellishments from March Spellbinders Card Kit.

I hope you enjoyed these cards!

Cut It Up Bugs and Critters Challenge

I'm excited for two things!

1. It is supposed to get up to 77ยบ this weekend, WooHoo!!!

2. It's time for a fun, new challenge over at Cut It Up.

Our new challenge over at Cut It Up is Bugs and Critters!
Create a project that has a bug or other critter on it. Don't forget a die cut!

Our sponsor for this weeks challenge is My Scrap Chick, and you have a chance to win a $20 certificate to their store.

For my project I  chose a to use Ladybug Love to create a coffee mug.
I have a reputation with my family for being unapproachable until I've had my first cup of coffee.
I once paid my daughter $5, when we were camping, to bring me a cup of joe so I didn't have to get out of my sleeping bag :)
I thought this mug suited me perfectly.

To create this mug I used Oracal 651 vinyl which I purchased from Expressions Vinyl.
You can purchase this vinyl here.

The cut file comes with three layers in case you want your spots to be a different color. I wanted my spots to be black, so I only cut out two layers.

I cut the black layer first, and used transfer tape to attach it to my mug.
I then cut the red "wings" and attached it with transfer tape on top of the black body.

Viola, my mug was finished. Easy, Peasy and oh, so cute!

Supplies Used: plain white mug; cut file from My Scrap Chick; Oracal 651 vinyl in black and red; transfer tape.

I can't wait to see your creation so pop on over to the Cut It Up blog and join us in the fun!

Do All Things With Love

I decided I needed to get back to participating in some challenges. I feel like I need to stretch my creativity.

There is a sketch challenge going on right now at Sunday Stamps and it looked like a fun sketch to play along with.

I've been working on a few faith based cards recently and thought this sketch would make a cute and simple card. I recently purchased a sticker sheet called "Faith" by Simple Stories. and chose to work around the "Do All Things With Love" sticker.

The papers I chose were from a new 6X6 pad i just purchased called "Just Be You" by Echo Park.
There are so many fun papers in this pack. I seriously have almost used the whole pad up!

Some twine and a sprinkle of sequins and my simple little card is complete.

Supplies Used: cardstock - white; patterned papers in Just Be You by Echo Park; Stickers in Faith by Simple Stories; sequins from JoAnns; Twine by May Arts.

So glad you could pop by!

Die Cuttin' Divas "Golfer's Day" Challenge

We are finally getting some lovely spring weather.

Perfect time of the year to get out in the sunshine and play a round of golf, if you are so inclined!

My husband enjoys getting out and hitting a round, although, he says he is a "hacker." I, myself, have never played. Though it looks interesting, I enjoy the time my husband plays and I can be alone to play in my in my craft room :)

Tuesday has come around again so we are on to a new challenge.

Our challenge over at Die Cuttin' Divas this week is Golfer's Day.

.

I found the coolest golf cart at the Silhouette store. It holds a golf ball, which is kind of fun.
I decided to alter the file a bit, so there was a place to hold tees also.

Wouldn't it make a cute favor for a "golfer" themed party!

It even has a cute golf bag and clubs.

You can purchase this cut file here

Supplies used: card stock - black, 2 shades of green, rust, grey;  patterned paper is a scrap from my stash; brads, tees, golf ball, Silhouette Studio cut file.

Now pop on over to Die Cuttin' Divas and see all the fabulous inspiration the rest of the design team has come up with.

Hope to see you playing along with us!!!!

Cut It Up "You Are My Sunshine" Challenge

Raining, raining, raining here, so we could use some of todays challenge!

We had hiking plans with the grandkids and had to change to indoor games. Oh well!
Time spent together is the important thing.

Well, anyway, it's time for this weeks challenge!!

Our new challenge over at Cut It Up is You Are My Sunshine!
Create a project that either has a sun on it, or includes things that make you happy. Don't forget a die cut!

Our sponsor for this weeks challenge is Dreaming Tree, and you have a chance to win a $15 certificate from their store.

I chose a darling box from their store, which just happens to be a free file which you can pick up here.

Fun little box to hold some trinkets in.

A note, I picked a piece of glitter paper that matched my yellow cardstock a little to perfectly, so I cut out another sun in black and placed it under my glitter sun to make it show up better.

Supplies Used: card stock - yellow, blue, glitter yellow, glitter blue; Dreaming Tree cut file; rhinestones.

I can't wait to see your creation so pop on over to the Cut It Up blog and join us in the fun!

Die Cuttin' Divas Sketch Challenge

I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter weekend!

I really enjoyed my weekend at my parents home. I cooked, or should I say BBQ'd. Instead of traditional Easter ham we had bbq'd pork loins that had been marinated in a balsamic vinegar and fresh rosemary sauce. I also made potato salad and baked beans and my sister brought a fruit salad.
To top it off I made a lemon supreme pie for dessert. It was different than what we usually do, but everyone decided it might be our new tradition.

Since it is Tuesday, we are on to a new challenge

Our challenge over at Die Cuttin' Divas this week is a sketch challenge.

.

I used my Cricut machine to create a pretty daisy bouquet for a Mother's Day card.

A Sizzix nesting oval die cut out my "frame" for the bouquet. Some twine and pearls for embellishments.

Supplies used: card stock - white, 2 shades of green, 3 shades of yellow;  patterned paper by Recollections; pearls by Kaisercraft; twine; stamp from Michaels.

Now pop on over to Die Cuttin' Divas and see all the fabulous inspiration the rest of the design team has come up with.

Hope to see you playing along with us!!!!
