Pocket Full Of Sunshine

Today I'd like to share a card I made for Operation Write Home. It is based on a card by Maren Benedict that I saw in one of my Paper Craft magazines. I thought it was darling.

For the pocket on this card I used a cut file from Silhouette Studio. After cutting it out on my Cameo I went over the feux stitching in marker and then again on my sewing machine. I wanted it to look as realistic as possible. Before attaching it to my card base I added an eyelet with my Crop -A -Dile and inserted a length of yellow twine through it.

I had inked the edges of my patterned paper before attaching it to the kraft cardstock base. I stamped the sentiment in the lower right hand corner. Remember to put your adhesive around three sides only of your pocket, so your sunshine can be tucked inside the top!

I cut the sun out with my Going Places Cricut cartridge and added a little doodle in the center with a marker. I then added an eyelet with my Crop - A - Dile and inserted the other end of my yellow twine. You can now pull the sunshine out of the pocket without losing it. To finish off the card I tied a pretty bow around the top.

Supplies used: cardstock - kraft, 2 shades of yellow; patterned paper - Distressed Jeans in Vintage - T by We R Memory Keepers; stamp - Something Sweet by Stampin' Up; ink - Tukedo Black by Memento; eyelets - We R Memory Keepers and Making Memories; Crop -A - Dile; Going Places Cricut cartridge; Silhouette Studio cut file; ribbon, twine - my stash; sewing machine.
