Friday is Earth Day this year.

In many cities there are organized clean up projects, planting trees, promotion of Re-Duse, Reuse, Recycle.

Over at Die Cuttin' Divas we are Celebrating Earth Day too!

This week our challenge is to create something with a recycled item or Earth Day theme

.

I decided to go with a recycled item and found this beautiful piece of lace that was given to me by a friend. I thought it would make a pretty bridal veil.

Another Birthday?

Do you know someone who has a milestone birthday coming up?

If so, I found an awesome card on Pinterest that perfectly fits the bill. Of course I had to case it.

I used a cute Birthday Cake cut file by Miss Kate Cuttables for my card.
I cut out extra candles and flames, after first enlarging the flames.

For the singed corner I lit a match and carefully burned the corner of the card, then I inked it up with some brown ink.

The sentiment was created on my computer in my Print Shop Program.

Supplies Used: card stock - white, 2 shades of brown, 2 shades of blue; lime green, red, yellow, orange; cut file by Miss Kate Cuttables; Print Shop; matches; brown ink.

Die Cuttin' Divas Book Challenge

Do you like to read?

Other than curling up with a good book, there is hardly anything better than crafting! Am I right?

We are combining the two over at Die Cuttin' Divas to celebrate Library Day.

This week our challenge is to create something with a book

.

I chose to use a page from an old childhood book I had that had completely fallen apart. Cover off, pages ripped, etc.

I found a clipart image of Rapunzel on the internet. I saved it to my desktop and then opened it with my Silhouette program. Using the trace tool, I traced the image so I could cut it out with my machine.

I created the sentiment in my Print Shop program because, lets face it, sometimes you just don't have the right stamp :)

Supplies used: card stock -vanilla, black, pink; page from a childhood book;  clipart image from the internet; Framelets - Sizzix; rhinestones - Kaiser Craft

Happy Life Card from SSS Card Kit

I recently received my new card kit from Simon Says Stamp and just had to sit down and play.

So much fun goodies in this kit - papers, stickers and epoxy clips from Simple Stories along with a great stamp set by Simon Says Stamp.

I thought I'd share a card I made in their Card Gallery.

I loved the sentiment, "Snapshots Of A Happy Life"  on one of the papers included in the kit and wanted it to be the focus of my card.

I chose three images from another piece of the paper that had photos of things that made me happy - balloons, coffee and books. I fussy cut them and popped them in a filmstrip die cut.

I added a few banner stickers which were also included in the card kit.

Just a few enamel dots for fun and my card was done!
