Make A Splash

I'm here to share a card with you today that I created for the challenge over at Addicted To CAS.

The code word this week is Splash!

I was going through my stamp sets trying to figure out what I'd like to do for this challenge.
I came upon this cute Lawn Fawn set called Gnome Sweet Gnome. When I saw the bird bath and the little birdie, I knew just what I wanted to do.

I stamped the images on watercolor paper and used my new Prima watercolor pencils to color them.
The little birdie is fussy cut and attached with a Pop Dot for dimension.

Supplies used: card stock - white pink; watercolor paper; Stamps - Gnome Sweet Gnome by Lawn Fawn and boots4rain by The Stamps Of Life; ink by Memento; Prima Spring & Fall watercolor pencils; Pop Dots

Masculine Argyle Birthday

Over at Seize The Birthday this week the "Toppings" challenge is "Nothing But Neutrals"

I thought that sounded like the palette for the perfect masculine card.

For some reason Argyle popped into my head, so I went about trying to figure out how I wanted that to happen on my card.

I found this distressed looking argyle cut file at the Silhouette Studio store. It kind of reminded me of something Tim Holtz might do. It is called destroyed argyle and is Design ID #12049.

I think it looks perfect in black and white on the kraft card stock.

Supplies used:  card stock - kraft, black, white; Silhouette Studio cut file; Sentiment by Lil Inker; ink by Memento; staples - Making Memories.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Teacher Gift - Insulated Water Tumbler

I wanted to share with you a teacher gift I created for my grandson's teacher.

I purchased a case of colored tumblers from Amazon. Here is the link. The colors are fabulous, I was happy with the quality and for just a little over $3 a piece, they make an inexpensive little gift.

I put some tissue paper in so the photo would turn out better. My daughter is going to fill it with some little gifts.

I used three different fonts to create the wording in my Silhouette program.
I used Ariel Black,  LD Letter Jacket and SW Par-tay Thyme.

The school colors are blue and white and the mascot is a mountain lion so they put a paw print on everything.

I used Design ID #75727 for the paw print  and Design ID #32640 for the superman shield, both from the Silhouette store.

Supplies used: Insulated Tumbler Cups - Amazon; Vinyl - www.expressionsvinyl.com; Silhouette Studio cut files

I must admit I cased this card from one I found on Pinterest.

Die Cuttin' Divas Sketch Challenge

Another week has come and gone and we have a new challenge for you over at Die Cuttin' Divas.

This week we have a sketch for our challenge.

To create my card I used a Happy B-Day cut file from the Silhouette Studio store.

I just purchased the new Patriotic Picnic collection 6 X 6 paper pad by Doodlebug. It is chock full of the cutest papers. I fussy cut the fireworks rocket from one of the sheets.

I cut the word Happy out 4 times and glued them on top of each other to give i some dimension. I used pop dots to raise up the little banners that spell B-DAY.

Love You Most

They have a fun sketch this week over at Case This Sketch!

It really had my mind swimming with possibilities.

I ended up altering a border cut file from Silhouette Studio for my take on the sketch.

To create my card I first started with a heart border cut file from Silhouette Studio. I duplicated the border file and took one of the borders and turned it upside down. To do this I hit Object, then Mirror, then Flip Vertically.  I then lined one on top of the other so that the straight line part was superimposed. I used the eraser tool to remove two hearts from the top right and the bottom left of the borders. I used the font "Perfect Susan" to type my sentiment "love you Most". I put "love you" on the top right corner where I had removed the hearts and put "Most" on the bottom left spot where I had removed hearts. I then used the welding tool to weld it all together,

Now, for some reason, when I welded the shapes together it removed the little cut out heart and I had to add those back again to each heart.
Then I just added a few little heart sequins.

Supplies used: card stock - white, red; Silhouette Studio cut files; sequins - Martha Stewart.
