You're Electric!

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope your weekend is relaxing and fun!

My card of the day, today, is a simple little card I made with a super cute set of Stamps from BoBunny. When I saw this set at my local scrapbook store I just had to pick it up.

For the card I just cut a couple strips of patterned paper and attached them to the front of the card. I stamped the mixer on the card and on a piece of patterned paper, then cut it out and attached it to the card with pop dots. I stamped the sentiment on the bottom (unfortunately I smeared it a bit). Then I added some machine stitching and attached the whole thing to a red cardstock base.

Supplies used: cardstock - red, white; patterned papers from Early Bird by Cosmo Cricket; stamps - Sweet Tooth by BoBunny; Copic Markers; Sewing Machine.

Near or Far

I'm sharing a Mother's Day card today. Mom's special day is fast approaching! Gosh, before you know it we will be in the midst of summer!!!! Yay!

I thought these glasses were cute and reminded me of the fifties, so I tried to keep that theme going in the card. The background paper is called Spiffy. I cut the glasses on my Cameo with a Silhouette Studio file. The background for the glasses and the font were cut with the Nifty Fifties cartridge on my Cricut. I used Glossy Accents on the lenses of the glasses, although it is hard to tell on the picture.

Supplies used: cardstock - white, black, cream, red; pattterned paper - Spiffy from Peachy Keen by American Crafts; Silhouette Studio cut file; Nifty Fifties Cricut cartridge; fonts - Incised901 BT and FontdinerdotcomSparkly; rhinestones - American Crafts; Glossy Accents

Here's lookin' at you.....

It's Friday, YAY!!!!!!!

Lookin' forward to a beautiful weekend, some gardening, some craft time and dinner with our good friends on Sunday evening, what could be better?

I have a fun card for you today. I saw this design in my Paper Crafts magazine and thought it was so cute. It was done with different papers, but I chose this "Celebration" line from Authentique. Love the color combo. The glasses, mustache and speech bubble were all cut with my Cameo using Silhouette Studio files. I added some brads to the front of the glasses. The sentiment is a combination of letter stickers and label stickers made with Dymo.

I love to use a play on words in my cards, I think it is so much fun! I saw this play on words in one of my Paper Craft magazines and I got a kick out of it, so I had to make my own version.

Congrats / CTO Challenge #59

Hi everyone!

We hope you can pop on over to Celebrate the Occasion and join us this week for challenge #59. The design team has some awesome inspiration to get your mojo flowing. This week the challenge is to create a monochromatic Congratulations card!

I had blue on my mind and decided to pop over to the Silhouette store and see what background cut files they had. The one I chose is chevrons, which seems to be all the rage lately. So I purchased the background file and a label file. I sized the background down to fit my card size and cut away. I picked a background paper to match my cardstock choice, attached that to my card and attached the cut file on top of that. A little bit of twine, my label with Congrats stamped on it and a button and my card was finished.

Supplies used: cardstock - blue; patterned paper - No Sweat in Peechy Keen by American Crafts; twine, button - my stash; stamp - Almost Mounted Stamps by Art Declassified; Silhouette Cut Files

Hippo Birdy to You

What a gorgeous day it was yesterday! So nice to see the sunshine as most of last week here was gloomy. My hubby and I went for a hike with the pooch and we all enjoyed the beautiful spring day. Hope your weekend was wonderful!

I have an easy birthday card to show you today. Really quite simple. I did the title on my computer using my Printshop program. I stamped my cute image on three different polka dot papers, tied 2 color coordinated pieces of twine around the card and popped a button on top. Makes a cute card in a flash, when your short on time.

Supplies Used: cardstock - white; patterned paper from Bitty Dot Collection by Papertrey Inc.; font - Pea Noodles Girlfriends; stamp - Wild Things Snag 'Em stamp by Imaginisce; twine and button - my stash.

Wizard of Oz Shadow Box

I would like to preface this post with the fact that I was the oldest of 4 siblings. As such, I did, at times, lord it over the younger ones - especially my sister as she would contest.

When we were young we used to dress up and play Wizard of Oz. I, of course, was always Dorothy, one of my brothers was the tin man and the other was the scarecrow (he would take pieces of my mothers broom as straw).  Here comes the part I am ashamed to admit - I made my sister play the part of Toto and follow me around on all fours. I realize there were other female parts she could have been, and she pointed that out to me on numerous occasions, but I told her she had to be Toto or she could not play with us. Horrible, I know! She probably has some deep, underlying psychosis because I forced her to play the part of a dog.

Anyway, over the years it has become a source of many jokes and we have exchanged many Wizard of Oz themed gifts to one another. Hence, here is my latest gift to her.

Easter Table Decor

My house needed some serious Easter/Spring decor. I seemed to be short in that department. I saw a cute piece similar to this one on my second favorite addiction - Pinterest. I thought, I can do that!
So..... off to Michaels I went.

I had the metal basket already, I had purchased it last year at Walmart. At Michaels I bought some silk grass picks in the floral dept., a floral foam square, some speckled eggs, a little butterfly and some moss. I attached the floral foam to the bottom of the metal basket with tape, pushed in the grass picks, covered the top and sides with moss and topped with some scattered, speckled eggs and my little butterfly and voila!!!

I think it turned out kinda cute.

Supplies used: metal basket - Walmart; floral foam, moss, silk grass picks, eggs, silk butterfly - Michaels.
