I scream, you scream we all scream for ice cream :)
Our favorite summertime treat!
This month is National Ice Cream month and we are challenging you to come up with an ice cream creation over at Celebrate The Occasion this week. The design team has come up with lots of fun projects to give you some inspiration, so pop on by and check them out!!!
For my project I used a card cut file from Silhouette. I really liked this cut file because it starts as a one scoop ice cream cone and when you pull it up it turns into a 3 scoop cone. I sewed beads on the top scoop for sprinkles and embossed the other two scoops.
Supplies used: cardstock - 2 shades of tan, brown, pink, cream; texture fades embossing folder by Tim Holtz for Sizzix, beads - my stash; font - LDJ Noodge; Silhouette Studio cut file.

I'm blue without you
Our young men and women who are serving our nation overseas enjoy writing home to their loved ones. What better way to send a note than with homemade cards. That is what Operation Write Home is about.
The cards they like to send best are "Miss You" or "Love You" cards. The card I made today, for OWH, falls under the first category. I used one of Stephanie Barnard's The Stamps Of Life new stamp sets called Crayons2Stamp. A really cute and fun set.

I love to have my glass of wine in the evening. My project today lets you incorporate both the corks and the labels from your favorite bottles.
I started with a 12 X 12 canvas and modge podged a piece of Harlequin Cream paper by 7gypsies on to the canvas. On top of that I modge podged several different labels from my favorite wines.
*To remove labels from your wine bottles set your oven to 350ยบ, when your oven reaches temperature place your wine bottles in for approx. 10 minutes and when you remove the bottles the lables should peel off easily. This method works for most labels.
I also modge podged on the letters "Vintage Wine" which are from a Tim Holtz paper.
When the modge podged papers dried I sprayed the with Walnut Ink Antiquing Solution by Tsukineko, and then immediately wiped it with a soft cloth. Then put a coat of modge podge over the entire board.
Next I glued a 4 X 4 pice of cork in the middle. On the cork I glued metal letters to say "MENU" and a clip to hold your paper.
Throughout the board I randomly glued some wine corks.
I also attached a couple of cute wine related push pins.
Voila a cute menu board for you kitchen or bar!

We hope to inspire you to use your supplies in Home Decor projects that add that special touch to our homes. I have come up with two different menu boards that would be a great addition to any kitchen.
Today I'd like to share a menu board I made for my sister. Her favorite color is purple so I had to add some touches of purple to it.
The menu board itself is Kaisercraft Beyond The Page: Recipe Stand. I painted it first with multi-medium in matte by Studio. After it dried I covered it in antique linen Distress crackle paint by Tim Holtz for Ranger. For a final touch before adding my paper I sprayed it with Walnut Ink Antiquing Solution by Tsukineko, wiping immediatly with a clean, soft cloth. After it dried I Modge Podged on Fresh from The Vine paper in the What's Cooking Collection by Flair, along with the "menu" title which is a Silhouette Studio Cut File.
I added some brown pearls by Kaiser Craft to the flourishes of the menu board. The 3D flowers are a Silhouette Studio cut file that I added some rhinestones by Kaiser Craft to.
More flower cut files from Silhouette Studio and rhinestones by Kaiser Craft. The cork is a piece of sticky backed cork scrapbook paper from my stash. I glued a small purple clip to the cork board with some E6000 glue.
The butterfly was fussy cut from some Mariposas paper by Stampington & Company. I glued only the body down so that the wings would fold upto give it a more 3D look..
Thanks for stopping & looking at my Home Decor project, be sure & stop again tomorrow for my second Decor item.

You Still Give Me Butterflies....
Hi all!
I am back from my trip to Alaska and it was AMAZING!!!!!!! I had a fabulous time with my Mom and my sister. Absolutely gorgeous scenery, we saw Mendenhall Glacier and the colors of blue in this glacier are indescribably beautiful; we saw so many waterfalls I lost count; we took a trip to the Misty Fjords and it was fantastic; Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway are just wonderful towns.
Then the wildlife... Bears, Bald Eagles a plenty, Mountain Goats; Seals, Porpoises and to top it off the Humpback Whales!!! All I can say is I want to go back and if you ever get the chance I highly recommend you go.
I will be trying to play a little catch up with all your blogs this week, I am sure I have missed some amazing creations.
My project for today is a card I made for Operation Write Home using their sketch. Pretty simple to make with just some cuts of pattern papers and some stickers.

Firecrackers / CTO chalenge # 69
Is everyone ready for July 4th!!! We are going out on our boat to watch fireworks over Donner Lake, always a fun time.
It is time for a new challenge for you over at Celebrate The Occasion and this week our theme is 4th of July. Please come and join us over at the blog and check out the what the design team has created for you. We also hope you'll link up and play along with us!!!
I bought this wood kit from Pick Your Plum. It is a fun web site that has a different bargain everyday.
I first painted the edges, bottom and top of the wood blocks with Vanilla Bean paint by Martha Stewart (a brown). Then I painted the tallest with Cardinal Red, the middle size with True Blue and the smallest with Vintage White acrylic paint by Folk Art. I sanded all the blocks so some of the brown and wood would show through. I modge podged patterned paper on the blocks. The USA letters were cut out with my Cameo. I twisted the wire around a pencil.
Supplies used: wood blocks, star, twine and wire - Pick your Plumb; Modge Podge; Cardinal Red, True Blue, Vintage White acrylic paint by Folk Art and Vanilla Bean by Martha Stewart; Patterned papers - Alexander Hamilton, Charles Thomson and Thomas Paine in Let Freedom Ring by Pebbles; button - Sweetwater.
