Pretty Pretty Princess

It's Wednesday and a new challenge over at Twisted Sketches Hop on over to the blog and pick up the sketch, the "twist" this week is Jewel.

When my girls were little they had a game called Pretty Pretty Princess. The goal was to get all the pieces of jewelry (earrings, necklace, bracelet, crown). You wore the pieces as you collected them and the first one to be wearing all the pieces won. One evening the girls talked their Dad into playing with them. Guess who won? Of course, we had to get a picture of Daddy wearing the earrings, necklace and bracelet!!

Supplies used: cardstock - cream, yellow; patterned paper - "He Loves Me" in Will He B the 1 by Nikki Sivils; alphabet stickers - Glitz & Glitter; border punch - EK Success; die cut and jewels - my stash; journaling spots - American Crafts

Christmas Giveaway at Creating From The Heart

Melissa at Creating From the Heart is having a very generous giveaway for Christmas!

You should go over and check it out and while you are there scroll through her posts, she does absolutely amazing creations!!!!!

Winter Tree Christmas

I'd like to share a card today that was inspired by another cute design in my Holiday Cards Paper Craft Magazine. The card in the magazine was done with a light blue tree, and while it was adorable I guess I am just a traditional gal and had to make it green. I'd like to enter it in the challenge this week at Celebrate The Occasion. This week is Christmas, no red.

Supplies used: cardstock - kraft; patterned paper from Tinsel & Twig by The Girls' Paperie; sticker sentiment - Authentique; embossing folder - Cuttlebug; rhinestones - Kaiser Craft; cork, felt - Michael's; star button , twine - my stash.

Mountain Merry Christmas

My husband works for a contractor who builds beautiful homes and cabins at Lake Tahoe. He asked me to make a custom Christmas card for his employer. He wanted it to be special. I tried to incorporate the many elements that represented his boss and the area in which he does business. I used the snow covered mountains that overlook beautiful Lake Tahoe, a bear which is his employers logo (and of which we have many) and a cabin since that is what they build.

I wanted to share it with you:

I used the following cartridges and cuts:

Dinosaur Tracks for the mountains using the fit to length feature set at 7"
Create A Critter for the grass cut at 1", 3/4" and 1/2".
Camp Out for the bear cut using fit to length feature set at 2 1/4"
My World for the cabin cut using fit to length feature set at 3 1/2"
A Childs Year for the smoke which was steam coming out of a cup which I cut at 1 12".

Supplies used: cardstock - kraft, 4 shades of brown, 2 shades of green, grey, white, black, rust; chipboard sentiment from Seasons Greatings by Echo Park Paper Co,; corner rounder by Zutter; ink - Amaretto by PowderPuffs; holly and tree - my stash; Dinoaur Tracks, Create A Critter, Camp Out; My World, and A Childs Year Cricut cartridges.

For my last post, I'd like to share a super easy, super fast, holiday decor item you can make to give as a gift or to keep. So simple it's kind of embarrassing. I simply rolled 3" wide paper strips. I started with a length of 7" and decreased by 1" each time. Cut a tree trunk from brown paper and cut a star with my George and Basic Shapes cartridge with two shades of yellow. Glued them to a canvas with my glue gun, added some Stickles to the star and a rub on under the tree and it was finished.

Supplies used: canvas - Michael's; patterned paper - various scraps of Christmas paper; cardstock - two shades of yellow, brown; Stickles in yellow; rub on - Karen Foster; glue gun

I will have a blog prize at the end of this 12 Days of Christmas blog hop. All you have to do to be entered in the drawing is to be a follower and to leave a comment. I have another easy peasy gift for you to make and it won't break the bank. You'll need a quart jar, a little scrapbook paper and a few ingredients and you have a yummy treat to give to a friend.

I cut the lid topper with my Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge. I cut two graduated sizes with two sided patterned paper. Then I cut a smaller circle with George and Basic Shapes Cricut cartridge and printed my sentiment on it. Glued them together and then glued them to the top of the jar.

The tag was cut out with a silhouette file on the same double sided paper. The insert was cut and then the instructions for the hot cocoa were printed on it. I then attached the tag to the jar with some twine.

The recipe is from Sunset.

Supplies used: cardstock - cream; patterned paper - Holly Berry Floral from Tinsel & Twig by The Girls' Paperie; twine - my stash, jar - Hobby Lobby; powdered milk, unsweetened cocoa; sugar, salt, mini chocolate chips, peppermint candies.

I will have a blog prize at the end of this 12 Days of Christmas blog hop. All you have to do to be entered in the drawing is to be a follower and to leave a comment. If you leave a comment on each day you will be entered in the drawing one time for each comment, so you can have up to 12 entries in the drawing.

Kids Christmas Table/12 Days of Christmas

Oh My Gosh, today is day ten in the 12 Days of Christmas blog hop. I can't believe there is only two days left and I have so many ideas swimming around in my head. I wanted to show you a few cute ideas for a childrens table at Christmas dinner or for a childrens Christmas Party. I set this table up for my two grandchildren.

For the snowman drink, I started with a clean jar (I used an empty starbucks frappucino drink).
I cut the scarf out of felt and glued the scarf and three buttons on the jar with my hot glue gun. For the head I used small powdered donuts which I added faces to with cake decorating gel writers. The straws are from the dollar store and simply slip through the donut and hold his head in place!

The treat bag toppers were made with the labels nestabilities by Spellbinder. I stamped white snowflakes randomly on the kraft label. I stamped the Rudolph and punched him out with a circle punch and matted him with two more circles. He has a rhinestone nose. Inside the cellophane bag is 8 malted milk balls and a chocolate cherry for all the reindeers noses.

Here they are together on the table:

I also found this cute, free, printable letter to Santa at Disney family.com

Supplies used: cardstock - red, kraft; stamps - reindeer by Craft Smart and snowflake by Inkadinkado; Ink - white by A la Mode and brown by Inkadinkado; cellophane bags - Michael's; rhinestones - Kaiser Craft; felt and buttons - my stash; Letter to Santa - Disney Family

I will have a blog prize at the end of this 12 Days of Christmas blog hop. All you have to do to be entered in the drawing is to be a follower and to leave a comment. I have another inexpensive and oh, so easy gift you make. Great to leave hanging on your neighbors door, or another cute hostess gift! You've probably seen this before, but here it is again.

I bought these Christmasy whisks and some Hershey Kisses. The green one with the Christmas tree in it is from Hobby Lobby! They had a bunch of cute ones for just $3.99. I cut the tags out with my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Cricut cartridge.

Just fill the whisk with some Hershy Kisses, pop into a cellophane treat bag, tie with a pretty Christmas bow, add your tag and you've got a fun little gift!!
